HBCU Food for Thought: Entrepreneurship for breakfast (2373 hits)

January 22, 2013

It is often said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. That is certainly the case for an entrepreneur, as it can set you up for a busy 24 hours’ work.

To be successful in business, you need to be prepared to grasp an opportunity wherever you are, whatever the situation. With that in mind, I am going to take part in a breakfast with budding entrepreneurs in the UK next month.

Virgin Money are supporting the UK Government's new Start-Up Loans scheme, which recently received additional funding and increased its age range. I’ll be talking business with young entrepreneurs in Gosforth about their own big ideas and how to make change for good in business.

Whether or not you can join us on the day, if you're aged between 18-30 and you live in the North East or Cumbria you can enter a great Virgin Money competition: pitch your new business to the public for the chance to sponsor Newcastle United against Liverpool at St James' Park in April.

If you aren’t in the UK, why not set up a meeting of your own to brainstorm some ideas and really kick-start your business for the year ahead? To maximise your day, make it a breakfast meeting – they often provide excellent food for thought!
