Job Description
The Quantitative, Translational ADME Sciences (QTAS) department at AbbVie isseekinga highly motivated scientist to join the Biologicsbioanalysis,characterization,andproteomicsgroup. The main function of this positionis todevelop andimplementLC/MS (liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry)-basedbioanalysisandin vitrocharacterizationassaysof novel biologics entities. The successful candidate willbe experienced in the optimization and implementation of novel and routine LC/MS-based bioanalytical methods to driveinvivoPK, TK, and PK/PDanalysisas well asinvitrostability characterization ofbiotherapeutics. The candidate willbe responsible forsample preparation, method development, bioanalytical assay operations, data analysis, reportgeneration, and datapresentation.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- OperateandmaintainLC/MSinstrumentsto generatehigh-quality experimental data.
- Performaffinity purificationofbiotherapeutic (includingbut not limited tomonoclonal andmultispecificantibody,antibody drug conjugates,antibody-siRNA conjugates,andtLNPs).
- Analyze dataandmaintaindetailed,accurateand comprehensive studydocumentationinelectronic laboratory notebooks.
- Facilitateassay optimization and implementation to ensurelaboratory capacity anddata quality.
- Communicate data interpretationinternally and externally.
Qualifications
Qualifications - Bachelors Degree or equivalent education and typically 10 years of experience, Masters Degree or equivalent education and typically 8 years of experience, PhD and no experience necessary.
- Highly motivated, self-driven and results-oriented with excellent communication and presentation skills; capable of working both asteamplayer andindividualcontributor.
- Prior industry experience in drug discovery/developmentispreferred.In-depthunderstandingofin vivoPK,TK and PK/PD studiesand corresponding bioanalytical assaysas well asin vitrocharacterizationassaysis highly desired.
- In-depthunderstanding of protein mass spectrometry and hands-on experience with QQQ(SCIEX),qTOF(Agilent, Bruker,SCIEX)and/orOrbitrap(Thermo)mass spectrometers are highly desired.
- Hands-on experiencewith automatedliquid handling systemsis highly desired.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and analyze data using advanced software toolssuch asProtein MetricsByosandGraphPad Prism.
