
Dr. Brian Anderson, a Jackson State University associate professor of social work, has been elected to The Association of Baccalaureate Social Work Program Directors (BPD) Board of Directors.
In addition, he was named Social Work Educator of the Year at the 43rd Alabama/Mississippi Social Work Education Conference Oct. 9 at Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, Ala. He also won that award in 2009.
“I’m honored and extremely excited about my accomplishments this year and very thrilled to have the opportunity to serve as a BPD board member,” Anderson said.
This spring, Anderson was named College of Public Service Teacher of the Year.
He was recently accepted to the 3rd cohort of the Academy for Research and Scholarly Engagement at JSU.
He is a trained Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accreditation site visitor and serves on CSWE’s “Council on Leadership Development.”
His BPD board term ends in 2016.
