Diversity Abroad Future Leaders Summit

CIEE recently hosted its inaugural Diversity Abroad Future Leaders Summit in Minneapolis, Minnesota. During this full-day workshop, 20 campus leaders and change agents in international education developed new ways to attract diverse and underrepresented student populations to study abroad. The summit was hosted in conjunction with the Diversity Abroad Network. I had the special opportunity to serve as the keynote speaker and summit co-facilitator. I kicked off the summit with a motivational speech on diversity and inclusion abroad. This is an important time for universities across the country to seriously consider strategies for not only increasing the numbers of historically underrepresented students who study abroad, but also a time to examine the quality of international experiences for every student. For over 65 years CIEE has been recognized as one of the world leaders in international education. They have supported thousands of people gaining the knowledge and skills necessary to live and work in a globally interdependent and culturally diverse world.
