PRESIDENT SORRELL NAMED ONE OF 2012'S MOST POWERFUL PEOPLE AMONG HBCUs
President Michael Sorrell was included in the Huffington Post's list of the 50 most powerful individuals and groups among historically black colleges and universities. Jarrett Carter, founding editor of HBCUDigest.com, cited the founding of the Center for Fundraising and Philanthropy in "The Digest 50 -- 2012's Most Powerful People, Groups in HBCU Culture". The Center is the first of its kind at an HBCU.
This marks the fourth time that Paul Quinn has been included in a national media list in less than two years. In September 2012, Ebony magazine named Paul Quinn one of the top liberal arts HBCUs in America; and in 2011, Marybeth Gasman included the Quinnite Nation in her "Top 10 Historically Black College and University (HBCU) Successes of 2011" in the Huffington Post. Earlier in 2011, HBCUDigest.com named Paul Quinn one of the five most underrated HBCUs.
