Th Smart Bunch Animation: Can Black Children Learn Science and technology?
For 28 years, I have worked with black engineering and science college students. I have found engineering to be one of the most challenging course of study at any college. When I have exposed students to engineering at the high school level it has created enthusiasm about learning. The National Society of Black Engineers have done a great job of reaching K-12 students and exposing them to engineering. All it takes is creativity on the part of schools and corporations to support science programming in the African American Community. It takes partnership. I teamed up with a company called CGI mate to create an animated series of stories focused on science, technology, engineering and math. you can "Like it on Facebook at http://on.fb.me/r37ofP.
Now is the time to create enthusiasm around science and technology. All of the new jobs will incorporate robotics and computers and African Americans must pursue higher levels of education. I have found out that students who participate in science and technology programs graduate from high school at a higher rate
