[HBCU Presidents] As with every Tuesday, today, The Black Scholars Index celebrates the life and accomplishments of Dr. James E. Cheek. Dr. Cheek, resident emeritus of Howard University, was born in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, on December 4, 1932 and has unfortunately passed away last week. We honor him and his accomplishments with this feature.
